Visit #23

I decided on a next day follow-up visit. I arrived at the park at 3:28 p.m.  The temperature was 94 and there has been rain in the area and rain clouds are still lingering. It was hot and humid. I hiked to the bridge and was there by 3:50 p.m. and the site at 3:55 p.m.

Starting at the pipes, I progressively walked thru the site to note any changes from yesterday.

The following changes or activity was noted w/ 15 photos:

#1. thru #3. The bucket ad backpack have been removed from inside the top pipe. The bucket has been placed upside down. There are many peanut open shells scattered in the pipe. I have moved the bucket to the side and the following items were exposed from underneath: the comb, mirror, pear, and apple.

#4. thru #7. At the tree under food bucket #1, wrappers etc. are scattered on the ground. The hub cap with 6" nail were removed from the bucket and on the ground by the tree. The large rock is still in the bucket but the pear is on the ground.

#8. and #9. At the painted ground stick hunter and antelope the following is noted: 1) Two of the antelope sticks are out of place. 2) Some of the colored small rocks and feathers have been moved.

#10. The deer corn pile and other food items are gone.

#11.  At the balls corral, I saw possible hog rooting activity among the limbs around the balls.

#12. and #13. This is at the tool bag gifting tree. The wrappers on the ground are from the sweet treats removed from the exterior pouches. Nothing in the bag has been taken. I unzipped the bag and left as is.

#14. and #15. At the small tree besides the top pipe and under food bucket #1, I added sticky flypaper. I hope to get some hairs if possible and forward to a fellow researcher for analysis.

I didn't pick up any trash that day. I decided to clear the area next visit. I was going to leave a sketchbook this day, but changed my mind and will do it also next visit.

I am thinking about making Saturday my main visiting day in the future, but as usual, it's subject to my mood. I want to have a good video spot here on site. I'm looking the site over for the best possible place for my camcorder.

I also went looking for the tree that, I saw something behind. I could not locate it. Very disappointing. It wasn't far from the tool bag gifting tree as I was moving east. I need more practice. I need to take the time to use the camcorder for videoing the immediate area.

This concludes field report #23 for Sunday August 16 2015.
