On an uninhabited inhospitable island in Russian waters only 900 km from the North Pole, are some very strange huge round spheres of stone. Josef Franz Land Island is a very curious place. Eighty five percent of the island is glacial year-round.
These, however, are not the only ones found around the world - petrospheres are everywhere!

So, how did those stone spheres show up on the most remote island in the icy seas where only walruses call it home?
One desperate geologist tried to explain something about a pool of water and a soft rock and being rolled around until it smoothed. It was not well received when one considers that those conditions are all around the world and yet these spheres are not found in those similar conditions. They are found in jungles, far inland, and other locations. This island has no signs that any humans ever tried to live there, it is unbelievably had to get to and dangerous and horrible conditions.
These are not small spheres. They are 6-10 feet in diameter!

Interesting - sounds like a stone sphere that can roll in any direction without needing to turn, eh??
