This report has 117 photos. It has been 13 days since I last went to site 1B. Site 1B is in a tiny part of the overall flood control reservoir. Waters from the flooding and rains over the last 7 weeks have been something to see!
I took the day off from work to bike ride the levee around the reservoir.
I divided my photos into 4 sections. There are 4 roads that go thru the reservoir. Past photos from the levee covered sections 1 and 2. The water was at a normal level at that time. The whole area at this time looks like a real reservoir, not seasonal for flooding.
I really wanted to see where the 'FP' (Forest People) might be able to move to. You will see that there are many trees above the water just like in a great swamp. Maybe there is dry ground in there somewhere, they can go to? Maybe they can use the trees to move in?
At section 4, I saw deer moving along the tree lines on both sides of the levee. The 'FP' would probably follow the food. I know site 1B would still have activity as soon as the waters receded. I make these photos available to show how the area looks in high flood stage.
I arrived at the first parking area approximately 9:37 AM. The temperature was 86 partly sunny and with high humidity. My riding was from west to east thru sections 1, 2 and thru part of section 3. Halfway thru section 3, the levee turns north. The rest of section 3 and part of section 4 is north. the last part of section 4 turns back to the west and dead-ends into a warehouse area. This was a long ride because of my many photo stops.
This day, the time spent traveling to and from and on the levee was from the above 9:27 AM to 2:30 PM. What follows are the 4 sections and what I saw from those sections. Riding and observing from sections 3 and 4 was a new adventure for me. Also by the time, I got back to my car that afternoon, I was wore out. I hope you make semblance of what I saw.
Section 1 photos: 1-35
Section 2 photos: 36-52
Section 3 photos: 53-104
Section 4 photos: 105-117
This concludes field report #22 for Friday June 10, 2016.
